National Resources for Unwanted Calls & Texts

Official federal resources for registration, reporting, consumer guidance, and unwanted-call or text complaints.

Choose the resource that matches what happened

Federal reporting systems serve different purposes. Filing a report can contribute information to enforcement and consumer-protection programs, but it does not guarantee an individual investigation, carrier traceback, or enforcement action.

FTC — National Do Not Call Registry

Register a phone number and report covered unwanted telemarketing calls. The registry expresses your preference to limit many telemarketing sales calls; it is not a technical call blocker.

DoNotCall.gov
FTC — ReportFraud

Report fraud, scams, and information about a company or scammer. The FTC uses reports with law-enforcement partners to identify patterns.

FCC — Unwanted Calls & Texts

File a consumer complaint about unwanted calls, robotexts, or caller-ID spoofing. The FCC says these complaints can inform policy and potential enforcement; it does not resolve each unwanted-call complaint individually.

FCC complaint guidance
FTC — Blocking and labeling guidance

Consumer guidance on carrier and device tools that can help reduce unwanted calls.
